Grade 11

Welcome Grade 11! This is your ISU arts page in order for us to share what we are doing in art class.

This class is the first year of either the standard or higher level visual arts DP course. Students will develop and pursue individual themes and interests in visual art. Focus is divided between studio work (product) and the investigative workbook (process). Students will develop their own studio practice. At this level projects begin to be self-driven with direction from the teacher.

The eleventh graders  spend an afternoon teaching and working with grade one on drawing animals. The “famous” special guests added much excitement to the day and the results show the hard work put in.

A morning visit to the Zanabazar museum of fine art. The museum has an excellent collection of old Mongolian art like Tsam masks and Tankha paintings. Downstairs their is also a modern art gallery featuring some up and coming Mongolian artists.  The trip involved first-hand exposure to well-known works, art critique, analyses and sketching. see handout
